Janga Bahadur Lama is the Managing Director and Founder of Firante Treks & Expeditions.
a trusted Himalayan trekking and expedition company, which he co‑founded in 2007.
A former Executive Member of the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN)
During the 2017–2019 term, he combined deep industry leadership with hands‑on experience
in travel, hospitality, and community development.
Born in Simikot, Humla, one of Nepal’s most remote and beautiful regions
Janga moved to Kathmandu to study and supported himself through work in the
hotel and travel industry, with over six years of experience before launching Firante.
His ventures have since expanded into Humla Resort and
Products Karnali Pvt. Ltd., and he founded the
Bodhi Tree Foundation Humla, a non‑profit supporting underprivileged communities
in Humla and across Nepal.
Coming from a 17‑generation lineage of Vajrayana Buddhist practitioners,
Janga continues his family’s spiritual tradition and is skilled in
Tibetan yoga, meditation, and retreat practices, bringing mindfulness
and cultural depth to every journey.
