Established in January 2007 by a group of dynamic young professionals with over a decade of experience in leading tourism organizations, Firante Treks & Expedition is unwaveringly committed to harnessing socio-tourism for the cause of a sustainable world. While delivering services along well-established routes throughout Nepal, our company also pioneers off-route trekking experiences in the remote Karnali province, covering Humla, Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Jajarkot, Surkhet, and Dailekh—some of the most secluded districts in far North West Nepal.


Setting itself apart, Firante Treks & Expedition actively promotes tourism within the Karnali district, generating valuable employment opportunities for the local population. Being locals from Humla Karnali ourselves, we are dedicated to positioning Karnali province as a promising tourism destination. Surendra Lama 'Smile'


Founder of Firante Treks & Expeditions has over 13 years experience in this tourism business and has a great love of sports and adventure travel along with sense of social and environmental responsibility. Before founding Firante Treks and Expedition, he was engaged with large organizations more then 9 years holding major responsibilities of Tour Organizer, office management and leading first time (new route) expeditions.

He has been always a good travel companion and perfect tour operator. He has lead groups from all over the world throughout Tibet, India , Bhutan and Nepal.Born in Simikot village in Humla the remote far western Nepal and is one of the key person to promote Humla and far western as a tourism destination.

Janga Bahadur Lama


Janga Bahadur Lama was born in Simikot, Humla, Nepal, one of the most remote regions in the world. To pursue higher education, he moved to Kathmandu. While studying, he worked in a hotel to support himself. This responsibility hindered his ability to continue his education but provided valuable experience that eventually led him to start his own business. After over six years in the hotel and travel industry, he and his friends established a trekking company in 2007 called Firante Treks, meaning "wanderer."

After a decade in the travel industry, Janga expanded his ventures into hospitality and food businesses in 2016 by founding Humla Resort and Spa and Products Karnali Pvt. Ltd. He also established the non-profit NGO Bodhi Tree Foundation Humla to help the needy in Humla and across Nepal.
