At the first sign of serious AMS, the protocol is immediate descent to a lower altitude, typically 300–500 m lower, and rest. If symptoms are severe, helicopter evacuation from designated landing zones is arranged. This is why comprehensive travel insurance covering helicopter rescue above 5,000 m is mandatory before we confirm your booking.
